THE DAY AFTER THE DAY AFTER
By
MIchael Edwin Q
Standing by the stagnate river under my feet yeilds
And gives form under my weight
Hoof marks left by thirsty horses
The Talons of the eagle have left scratches
Into the icy water below
An eternal winter is coming, a cold yet snow less season
no water collections to prefect the sunlight
Clouds fight to the death for a place ind the sky
All is dark and darker as the final episode plays out
colos of rust and gray are all that's left
Trees split as the wood dries
The land is barren, infertile, every see stillborn
The sone no longer returns to the coda
Echoes of the last note have long since faded
And destroys the memory of things past
To hide over shame and pride
As we dwell in the Eden turned round
With no tombstone to mark our passing
